Psyllium – seed pods of plantago psyllium L.

Psyllium, best known as plantain (plantago psyllium L.) (also called psylliums, psilium) seed husks. Psyllium has almost no taste and is 80-85% fiber. It is also special because most of them (71%) are soluble fibers, which serve as an excellent food and have a beneficial effect on the intestinal microflora. For comparison, the traditionally popular oatmeal and wheat bran contain 62% carbohydrates and 10-15% fiber, of which only 5% is soluble. Psyllium is especially popular as a remedy for normalizing digestive and stomach disorders, constipation and colitis.

Usage

To use psyllium for health purposes, dilute 1-2 teaspoons of plantain husks in a glass of water, stir and drink immediately before it turns into a gel. It can be used twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.  For children aged 6 - 12 years, 1-2 teaspoons 1x a day. Not suitable for small children.

When using psyllium, you should increase your water intake!

Do not use dry under any circumstances!
